CURA Medical Services Unit
73 Lincoln Park, Newark, NJ 07102

CURA has been a recipient of Ryan White Part A funds for over 15 years through the City of Newark. Currently we offer Long Term Residential Treatment to Persons Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). PLWHA whom are disenfranchised have no access to a continuum system of care due to economic status, lack of education, language barriers and mistrust in the system of care. Often times PLWHA do not seek services in their communities for fear of being recognized, and ostracized.  Within this social and economic environment there are still an alarming number of Latinos and African Americans who have not been tested due to some of the factors mentioned above, as well as other issues such as; understanding the systems that are in place that can assist them obtain services. We are committed to meeting the client’s needs as it pertains to their care, wellbeing, and privacy.
